Amanda Ballard Tuesday, April 25



Manatee County Commissioner for District 2, Amanda Ballard, will be joining us for our next meeting on Tuesday April 25. Amanda has proven to be a terrific member of the BOCC and a rock-solid Conservative. So you won't want miss her presentation.

Representative Tommy Gregory To Present On June 13



We are excited to announce that Representative Tommy Gregory (District 72) will be joining us for our meeting on June 13. Rep. Gregory is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and he will provide a summary of the most recent legislative session. So mark your calendars and be sure to be on hand for this informative presentation.

Workshop On The Constitution At Our May 2 Meeting

    

Walter Finkelstein - Co-founder of the Proud Majority - will present a session on the US Constitution during our May 2 meeting.  This will be an informative session to review the tenets on which our Constitution is based and its importance during these troubling times.  So come, learn and be inspired!

Don't Forget The Potluck Dinner!

      

It has been our tradition to host a potluck dinner at all Manatee Patriots meetings.  So we ask attendees to please bring along an item that can be shared among fellow Patriots.  Bring any portion you like but most folks tend to bring 10-12 servings of a particular item.

Call To Action:  Help Preserve the Legacy Of Mixon Fruit Farms

The Manatee County Board of County commissioners is considering whether to establish the Mixon Fruit Farms property as a Stormwater Park at their Tuesday meeting. This important discussion is listed as Agenda item #44.  To go there now and to read the supporting documents simply click on the image below. 

As outlined in the recommendations, designating the Mixon Fruit Farms property as a Stormwater Park would provide the following features and benefits to the community:

  • Walking Trails
  • Birding
  • Water quantity and quality improvement
  • Environmental Education, field trips

The meeting begins at 9:00am on Tuesday, April 25 at the Manatee County Administration Building located at:

Manatee County Young Republicans President To Debate Democrats


    

Our own Nathan Knight, President of the Manatee County Young Republicans,  will be participating in a debate hosted by the Manatee Tiger Bay Club next Thursday, April 27.  The event will be held at the Manatee Performing Arts Center located at 503 3rd Ave W in Bradenton.  The event kicks off at 11:30am and is sure to be interesting.  So come on out and show support for our young Republicans! 

     

Superintendent Search - Finalists To Be Selected Next Week!

Last week, the Manatee county School Board select a group of 12 semifinalists as part of their effort in selecting a new Superintendent for Manatee County Schools.  The current list of candidates include the following individuals:

You can review each candidate's submission by simply clicking on their name in the list above.  A list of finalists will be published after a Workshop scheduled for this purpose on April 28.
   

Selecting a new Superintendent is an important decision which will impact Manatee county residents for years to come.  So we are urging all subscribers to diligently review all candidates and let our School Board know who you believe are the best candidates.
