Speaker Bio: Sherri Davidson

For the last 12 years I have called Manatee County home after moving here from Sarasota County where I lived for over 25 years, and my success has long been tied to Manatee County’s own. This community is the second fastest growing county in the state, and for good reason. We have beautiful beaches, weather and social/political climate.
During this time, I have increasingly focused on the educational opportunities available to the children of Manatee County. Good schools are essential to sustainable and strong neighborhoods. They are essential to attracting and retaining talent in our workforce and our communities. Most importantly, they are essential to raising the next generation of students with the knowledge, skill, and moral fiber to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
I have taken many opportunities to learn about different educational methods and to be an active supporter and leader in Manatee County. In recent years I have been introduced to a new—though actually very old—education model in classical education. I am convinced that this model is an excellent opportunity for Manatee County students and families.

from Jack May A Case Of Identity Theft Involving Manatee Patriots
| |
It has come to my attention that a public information request has been made by an individual but addressed the request as coming from Manatee Patriots. The Manatee Patriots have a code of conduct and policy on behavior. It is unfortunate that we need one, but in the past, we have found the need. Below is an excerpt from the document. The whole document is included on the website.
In the future, I am asking anyone presenting or representing themselves as a representative of Manatee Patriots must seek permission from the board of directors, prior to portending to speak for the organization. I appreciate your attention to this matter. We are happy to respond to questions and concerns.
Jack May - President Manatee Patriots
Speaking on Behalf of Tea Party Manatee – d.b.a. Manatee Patriots Although we share core values with many Conservative groups, we are an independent organization and grant no group or person permission to speak for Manatee Patriots without express Board approval and written permission. Approved by Tea Party Manatee Board of Directors on January 16, 2012, Amended August 7, 2014.

Superintendent Search - Get Involved!
| |
Last week, the Manatee county School Board select a group of 12 semifinalists as part of their effort in selecting a new Superintendent for Manatee County Schools. The current list of candidates include the following individuals: You can review each candidate's submission by simply clicking on their name in the list above. A list of finalists will be published after a Workshop scheduled for this purpose on April 28. Selecting a new Superintendent is an important decision which will impact Manatee county residents for years to come. So we are urging all subscribers to diligently review all candidates and let our School Board know who you believe are the best candidates.

from Debbie Faris Enough Is Enough
| |
Our friend from Defend Florida - Debbie Faris - has just posted a new interview with Roland Brunson. You may recall that the Brunson brothers have recently appealed to the US Supreme Court to sanction all legislators for certifying the 2020 Presidential Election. This is a fascinating discussion that illustrates the the bravery and persistence of Conservatives. So check it out! Just click here.

from Glen Gibellina A Very Special Open House
| |
I wish to extend a cordial invitation to all Manatee Patriots subscribers to attend my open house. If you ever want to see a shipping container home, next Saturday is the day. Here are the details:
Date: Saturday, April 22, 2023 Time: 2pm to 4pm (House Blessing at 2:30pm) Address: 2750 71st Avenue E Sarasota, FL 34243
| |
Our plan was to repurpose 3 shipping containers to yield a 744 square foot home that would be affordable, attractive, long lasting and requiring very little maintenance. We believe this home has accomplished that mission.
This home represents an example of entry level workforce housing and can double as an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in both Manatee and Sarasota County. I own the property, and placed it in a land trust for 50 years for rental of 30-50% Average Monthly Income ( or AMI for the accountants out there!).
Please consider attending this open house and meet the single mom and her special needs child. And see what some imagination, a sense of giving and a vision for the future can achieve.
