"Forbidden Skies: Tupolevs Over America" Next Tuesday
The next time you look up to the skies you may be surprised to see this aircraft. It is a Russian-built Tupolev TU-160 supersonic bomber codenamed "Blackjack", and it just might be flying over the Gulf of Mexico. Our own Dave Reilly, a former CIA employee, will reveal how likely this may become in his presentation next Tuesday, July 11. Dave insists that the current war in Ukraine is actually a mitigating factor for these occurrences. Here's an excerpt from Dave's presentation:
"The war in Ukraine prevents Russia from basing nuclear capable bombers in Venezuela that would violate US airspace. The financial cost to the taxpayer of deploying defensive fighter aircraft along the US border will likely be greater than whatever aid we provide to Ukraine.
Russia is devoting considerable resources to fighting the war in Ukraine. As a result, Russian funding available to build and maintain nuclear forces, designed specifically to attack the US homeland, will be substantially reduced. We probably all can sleep easier at night knowing that the US is less likely to be a nuclear wasteland when we wake up.
Isolationism does not work. The US started as a nation by paying a large portion of the national budget directly to the Barbary pirates so that they would not attack US ships. This would be like paying the Russians not to nuke the US.
Finally, the Russians should fear what Reagan did to the Soviet Union in Afghanistan (USSR eventually collapsed), could happen to Russia in Ukraine."

A Challenger For Vern Buchanan On July 25
We announced during our meeting a recent meeting that Vern Buchanan has a challenger for the FL-16 Congressional seat. Well meet the challenger: Jason "Eddie" Speir will be running against Vern for that seat in next year's Republican primary.
Eddie will be the featured speaker at our meeting on July 25. So be sure to be on hand to learn more about the candidate. Remember folks, you heard it at Manatee Patriots first!

New Victims of Communism - Manatee Website Launched | |
| |
A group of Manatee County Patriots (yes, most are Manatee Patriots subscribers!) have been working behind the scenes for several months developing a program to commemorate "Victims of Communism" Day. Signed into law last year by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the new law designates this day to be observed annually on or around November 7. On this day, all high school students enrolled in a class on US Government, must receive 45 minutes of instruction on the evils of communism. To augment this training, the Victims of Communism - Manatee organization has created a scholarship program for the best work on this subject submitted by Manatee County students in grade 9 or higher.
