"Forbidden Skies: Tupolevs Over America" On July 11
To take your mind off the oppressive heat, we have a blockbuster presentation on tap for you on Tuesday, July 11. Here is a synopsis in Dave's own words:
"The theme of my speech is my belief that if the US does not deal with the Russians in Ukraine, we will be dealing with the Russians along the US border. The Russians have tested the US a few times by sending Tu-160 Blackjack nuclear capable bombers to Venezuela. The Blackjack is the heaviest and fastest bomber in the world and its nuclear payload could cause devastation to numerous US cities. Russia currently is dramatically increasing the size of the Blackjack fleet. Stopping aid to Ukraine would not save the US money since a large number of fighter aircraft and related military capabilities would be needed to protect the airspace along our borders. Currently, the Ukraine conflict is draining Russian resources and preventing Putin from establishing a large military presence in the Western hemisphere.
Also, when Putin showed a video of a nuclear missile attack against Florida and said we could not stop it, he was right. According to the commander of the Missile Defense Agency (whose mission is to protect the US against ballistic missiles), the US can only defend against rogue regimes like North Korea and Iran.
Bottomline, even if Ukraine did not exist, the Russians are coming for the USA large portion of Russian military forces are dedicated to the nuclear destruction of America, not fighting a war in Ukraine."

Representative Will Robinson On July 18

A Challenger For Vern Buchanan On July 25
We announced during our meeting a recent meeting that Vern Buchanan has a challenger for the FL-16 Congressional seat. Well meet the challenger: Jason "Eddie" Speir will be running against Vern for that seat in next year's Republican primary.
Eddie will be the featured speaker at our meeting on July 25. So be sure to be on hand to learn more about the candidate. Remember folks, you heard it at Manatee Patriots first!

We received an interesting email from Alex DeGrasse representing the House GOP Battleground Fund. In it, Alex suggests that the only way to defeat the Democratic Machine's ballot harvesting to to start a Republican effort to do the same. Here's what Alex says:
"What we’re seeing in our country right now is disgraceful, less than 24 hours after cataclysmic news broke of 17 secretly recorded Biden Family Bribery tapes, Joe Biden’s Department of “Justice” dragged President Trump into a courtroom and threatened him with over 100 years in prison… for a complete and total non-crime!
I know a lot of conservatives are upset about the lack of accountability for the Biden Family and their corrupt associates, but trust me, it takes time to undo the rot and corruption in Washington. Specifically, it is going to certainly take 2 more years, a second Trump presidency and a conservative majority in the house.
House Republicans are under complete siege by the Democrat Ballot Harvesting operation they began in 2020 and perfected in 2022. We must fight fire with fire.
In New York alone, Democrats had hundreds of thousands of more mail in ballots than Republicans.
We cannot hold our House Majority if we get crushed like this again. It’s just not possible.
That’s why we’re launching the most aggressive Republican Ballot Harvesting Operation in history for 2024, and we need help getting it off the ground.

It is an interesting proposition. And as long as we abide by the Florida statutes (signed into law last year through SB524) the idea may have some merit. For instance, encouraging Vote By Mail (VBM) and early voting would lessen the disadvantage Republicans suffered on past election days.
