Election Integrity Speakers Highlight Our October Speaker Lineup

Between now and our meeting on Halloween, we will be featuring 2 exciting speakers who will address important issues on Election Integrity.

Next week, we are delighted to have Jamie Miller as our featured speaker. Long a fixture in Sarasota and Florida politics, Jamie is a well known speaker and pundit on today's most pressing issues.  A staunch Conservative, Jamie maintains a dynamic website (https://reasonablearguments.com) which provides commentary and opinion on a wide range of topics.  Jamie's presentation next week is entitled "Navigating the 2024 Presidential Race: Ensuring Free, Fair, and Transparent Elections".  You won't want this important presentation.

A Manatee Patriots Favorite Returns!

Everyone knows Raj Doraisamy.  As founder and leader of Defend Florida, Raj is one of the utmost experts on election integrity in the state of Florida.  We are delighted to have Raj as our featured speaker for the meeting on October 24.  He will be providing an update on Defend Florida's current projects and will provide his insights into next year's elections.  

An Election Integrity Folk Hero!

Rep. Daniel Perez from Miami-Dade county was recently elected as the leader of the Florida House of Representatives starting next year.  You will recall that as chairman of the Ethics, Election & Open Government Subcommittee, Rep. Perez championed the landmark bill -  HB 7061 - which among other things, finally put teeth into the law governing third-party voter registration organizations (3PVRO).  Your illustrious editor (who also happens to be a candidate for Manatee County School Board District 1) caught up with the Speaker Designate at an event earlier this week and had the opportunity to discuss several issues surrounding Florida elections.  It was a night to remember!

And speaking about nights to remember, our President - Jack May - joined a host of luminaries at the 2nd Annual Cattle Baron's Ball last Saturday evening.  Hosted by Feeding Empty Little Tummies (F.E.L.T. Inc.) in Veteran's Hall at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, it was a packed house as attendees were surrounded with great country music delivered by Duane Culbreath.  It was another night to remember.

The Victims of Communism Manatee Scholarship Awards Ceremony will be held at the Bradenton Performing Arts Center on Monday, November 6.  Registration begins at 5:30pm and the opening remarks start at 6:00pm.

A number of School and Elected officials will be on hand.  The featured speaker will be Jamie Arellano - the "Voice of Nicaragua" - who will share his experience while living under the regime of Daniel Ortega.

Help Preserve Future Generations

Last year, Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation establishing November 7 as “Victims of Communism Day”.  The law states that on or about this day, Florida high school students enrolled in classes on US Government must receive at least 45 minutes of instruction on such topics as Joseph Stalin, Fidel Castro, Pol Pot and how victims suffered under these regimes.

However, we feel that only 45 minutes of instruction is inadequate to reveal the true depth of the evils of Communism to future generations of Floridians.

In response, we have formed Victims of Communism-Manatee, Inc., a 501(c) (3) Not for Profit organization to enable high school students to learn firsthand about the horrors of Communism by hearing from people who have endured life under a Communist regime. To encourage students to participate, we have established a competitive Scholarship Program for students in Manatee County public, private and home schools.

But we cannot do this without your help.
